    Coaches Corner

    Such an exciting swim meet!  It was SO close!  Please make sure you read through the bulletin!  Lots of information for who can practice next week and what is going on next week!  I can’t believe the season is winding down. We have had a great season with lots of time drops and new legal swims!  I couldn’t be prouder of each individual swimmer.

    Updates for the week

    • Don Schuab Results

    • BONUS Hot Dog Wednesday on TUESDAY July 16th (The LAST one of the season!)

    • NO PRACTICE Wednesday, July 17! Rest up for CCI.

    • PICTURE DAY Is July 19th! ALL Swimmers arrive by 8:45, and pictures begin at 9:00 am. wear your team suit (or black suit) for pictures. 

    • Fun Friday is July 19th! The activity will be Candy Games and a Scavenger Hunt! This is the last Fun Friday and the last whole team practice of the season!

    • Practice Next week:

      • Monday July 22: Jr Champs, Straehle, and DIvisionals Swimmers ONLY

      • Tuesday July 23: Straehle and DIvisionals Swimmers ONLY

      • Wednesday July 24: NO PRACTICE (Straehle all day)

      • Thursday July 25: Divisionals Swimmers ONLY

      • Friday July 26: Divisionals Swimmers ONLY


     

    Meet Reminders/Updates:

    • NO photography/videos behind the blocks- don’t pull your cellphone, watch, etc. out behind the blocks.

     

    • Carroll County Invitational: July 17 @ HOME: 

      • Arrival time is 2:30 (you MAY NOT set up your tents prior to this time because the pool is still open to members- please be respectful!) We also cut our space in half to accommodate the rest of the teams, so we may ask you to move closer to other tents/shift your location as people are setting up. Thanks for being understanding!

      • Warm Ups begin at 3:00 pm

      • 1st-3rd places will receive medals and 4th-16th places will receive ribbons.  Each swimmer is given a participation ribbon for swimming

      • Swimmers may enter a maximum of 4 events, and each event costs $5 (charged to your account).

      • Every family that has a swimmer swimming in this event will be required to do a volunteer job.  

      • CCI apparel pre order is over, but shirts and more will be for sale on site.

     

    • Dual Meet @ HOME is July 20. Swimmers must arrive and check in by 7:30 am.

      • This is our senior tribute meet! Come ready to celebrate them!


     

    Swimmers may qualify to swim in EITHER Junior Champs OR Straehle (not both)

     

    • Jr Champs: July 22 @ Westminster Riding Club Arrival time by 2:30 pm 

      • Warm Ups begin at 3:00 pm

      • Swimmers are eligible to swim if they have not posted an individual event time that would have qualified for Straehle based on the 2024 qualifying times. (Please note that swimmers who have participated only as a member of a relay that posted a Straehle qualifying time are still eligible to participate.)

      • 8 and Unders may swim in 3 events. 9 and older may swim in 4 events. NT’s are accepted.

      • The entry fee is 5$ per event.

      • Medals will be given out for 1st , 2nd , and 3rd places and ribbons for 4th through 10th place. All swimmers will receive a participation ribbon.

      • Pre-order for shirts is over, but they will be for sale on site.

     

    • Straehle: July 24 @ Andover Swim Club

      • Warm Ups @7:00 am

      • Qualifiers are posted on the team website under the “Straehle” tab- check after each meet to determine if your swimmer qualified!

      • All Meet information (including the qualifying times, meet announcement, and Tshirt/apparel ordering) is available at: https://www.gomotionapp.com/team/reccmsl/page/swim-meets/straehle-invitation

      • Shirts- use code CMSL24 for free shipping, and order by July 16th


     

    • Divisionals: July 27th @ HOME. You MUST swim in 3 dual meets in order to qualify, and qualification is based on time.

      • Warm Ups @7:45 am

      • Top 10 swimmers is on the team website under the “Top Swimmers” - this will give you an idea of if your swimmer is likely to swim or not.

      • Final Roster determined by Monday, July 22.

      • T-shirts will be available to purchase at the meet. All t-shirts will be printed on site. 

      • Coaches/parent relay- please let us know if you are interested in participating by Friday, July 26th!

     

    Team Gear:

    • Please make every effort to wear South Carroll Spirit wear and/or plain black and yellow. We are here to support our summer swim team! 

    • If your swimmer is not wearing the team suit, they must wear a black suit.  All swimmers must wear the team cap.

    Important Dates

    Reminders

    • Volunteers MUST wear SCST or plain black and yellow. If we have wardrobe issues, we will buy volunteer pinnies to wear. 

    • Code of Conduct must be signed by all swimmers and families.  Swimmers will not be permitted to swim in any meets until it is submitted.

    • You MUST commit by Tuesday at midnight for each meet or your swimmers will not be entered. Directions for committing are in the June 17th bulletin.
