    Coaches Corner

    Time Trials were a huge success!  Thank you to all the families who volunteered and to the swimmers for doing their very best!!  A few reminders as we head into our first week of morning practice!!

    -Swimmers that are 10&under MUST have an adult stay with them during practice.

    -Please, no parents near the pool deck or the snack shack area- parents should be up on the hill.

     

    OUR FIRST DUAL MEET THIS SATURDAY!!!!  Get ready for our first meet of the season!  We will learn our team cheers during fun Friday this week, so we are all ready!  For the meet, parents, PLEASE remember, your swimmer should NOT be wearing any club team swim cap and it is preferable if they are not wearing the suit as well.  For our meet- swimmers are required to have a SC cap and a black swimsuit if they do not have the team suit. Parents should shy away from representing other swim teams during meets as well.

     

    Let's show everyone what South Carroll is all about and wear out Serpent gear and cheer our teammates on like crazy!!!

     

    I am looking for our two Serpents of the week during practice this week!  Show your good sportsmanship, team spirit, and be extra helpful!

    Updates for the week

    • WAVERLY MEET 6/22: We will be holding a parent/coaches relay race at the END of the meet.  Please let us know if you will swim, and/or if you have a team already put together.  Please consider participating- the kids LOVE seeing their parents and coaches race!!

    • Volunteer Jobs and Swim Meet commitments are open! You MUST commit by Tuesday at midnight for each meet or your swimmers will not be entered. Directions for Committing: 

      • go to www.scserpents.com. From the bar on the right, click “Events & Competition” and then select “Team Events”.

      • Click on the . Click on your child’s name, and select from the drop down menu yes, or no. 

      • Then click the checkbox next to “Day 1 Session 1”, and hit “save change.

    • FIRST Hot Dog Wednesday is June 19! Bring $5 and your appetite!

    • FIRST Fun Friday is June 21! The theme will be getting to know your Buddy! Bring your creativity and a great attitude! 

    • Rita’s Ice Eldersburg Fundraiser is June 20.

    Meet Reminders:

    • Dual Meet vs Waverly Woods is June 22. Swimmers must arrive by 7:30 am and the gates will NOT be open before 7 am.

    • NO photography/videos behind the blocks- don’t pull your cellphone, watch, etc. out behind the blocks.

    • Divisionals: July 27th. You MUST swim in 3 dual meets in order to qualify, and qualification is based on time.

    • Please make every effort to wear South Carroll Spirit wear and/or Black and Yellow. We are here to support our summer swim team!

    Fun Friday and Buddy Program:

    • Please complete the form, bring it to practice and put in the “completed buddy forms” folder by JUNE 17

    Reminders

    • Buy out- $250- We have 3 remaining: email [email protected] if interested.

    • Volunteers MUST wear SCST or black and yellow. If we have wardrobe issues, we will buy volunteer pinnies to wear. 

    • Code of Conduct must be signed by all swimmers and families.  Swimmers will not be permitted to swim in any meets until it is submitted.
